individual Contribution and Assessment

From week 9 till now, the two bus stop groups had been combined together. So, basically we separate all the work to 10 people and focus on our own detail drawings and models.

Week 10:

This is the feedback from Hank based on my first drawing.

This is the amended drawing after the first discussion.

Week 11:

Mini Tec 30x30

Mini Tec 30x60

During this week, I have updated my roof detail again after discussion with Hank. There will be four options totally.

-  minitec 30x30 and connection option 1 (knock in two nails on the each bar diectly)
-  minitec 30x30 and connection option 2 (knock in one nail on the steel plate)
-  minitec 30x60 and connection option 1
-  minitec 30x60 and connection option 2

Basically, our main job for this course is to provide some different ideas and designs for our client to pick the best one he prefers.

I measured all the related length of the roof to my individual model.

Week 12:

During this week, Violet and I will laser cut part of the roof panel together, because our detail drawings are related to each other. So, it will be easier and more accurate for us to laser cutting the model together.

Week 13:

This is the final version of my detail drawing. According to Hank, the Mini Tec 30x 60 will be placed same direction as the 30x30 one. So, the top view look the same.

Both of the laser cutting files are design by Violet and I together. We gave suggestion to each other and work out the final laser cutting model.

Group Presentation: Remuneration

The first group defined remuneration as any benefits you got from work. The choose of the job will be based on experience, business size, industry standards, stable income, ability to change positions etc. Some competition between working in freelancer and company. Basically, as the group presented, they think company would be a better choose. After that, they put remuneration in their own project which is The Last Suporematist. The expense they assumed in the project are calculated very accurate and well prepared. The Architecture & Construction Wages chart gives direct visual effect in terms of showing the average, minimum and max wages. But, the horizontal axis is not very clear to read.

Week 10

After Hank's correction, some faults have been corrected.

Updated Detail 3

Group Presentation: Conflict

The Aerial Ropeway group shows some kinds of differences in group cooperation such as different gender, backgrounds and personalities. There was a lot of text in some of the slides but the rest was good and easy to understand the most important points. The video provides some performing conflicts which are quite funny. Moreover, it not only provides the conflicts but also gave the solutions of these conflicts.

The Last Suporematist group had informative slides and presented with some actual conflicts they had in their group. The video was interesting which contains each member's attitude towards the conflicts.

Individual Major Milestone

Project Introduction

The project I selected is the Bus Stop From the Future. As a group member, I think I did my work very well. I uploaded my ideas and work on both Facebook and Blogger weekly. In the studio on Wednesday, I always participate in the group discussion in order to improve the bus stop design.

Till now, although I had done many detail designs, Hank seems like not very satisfy with our work. I think the project changed a lot during the mid-term break after the discussion with Hank. I uploaded the work I did weekly on Blogger, although it may be not so useful in the further design. As a group member, my major work is on connections and joints.
